Home Builders Association of Winston-Salem (HBAWS)

The Home Builders Association of Winston-Salem began in 1959 and celebrated 60 years of Excellence in 2019! HBAWS represents its professional membership to promote and support the home building and remodeling industry. Established in 1959, the Home Builders Association of Winston-Salem is a non profit trade association of building professionals affiliated with the North Carolina Home Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders.

Governed by an elected Board of Directors, HBAWS represents its builder members in Forsyth and Stokes counties involved in residential / commercial building and remodeling, and land development activities; and associate member businesses and professionals engaged in activities related to the building industry.

By effectively representing and serving its members, the Home Builders Association of Winston-Salem strives to meet the community’s need for quality, affordable construction and renovation of housing and commercial space.

The HBA educates its members in the best practices and latest trends in the home building industry. Working with government and elected officials to keep housing affordable is another important role for the HBA.

Through the Jimmy Johnson Foundation with Habitat for Humanity, HBA Winston-Salem raises funds annually to create awareness of careers in construction trades, provide students with tools for the trades, scholarships and the opportunity for high school students in the Carpentry Program at the WSFCS Career Center to build a Habitat home.
